Kiwanis Park

Improvements to Kiwanis Park provide for vital open space within the heart of downtown Rutherfordton. The Kiwanis Park master plan was adopted in 2019 and features new trails, an adventure playground, shelters, restrooms, and dog park. The park connects with the Purple Martin Greenway to provide pedestrian and bicycle connectivity to Main Street.

Project Status

Phase 1 of Kiwanis Park has been fully funded, with a Grand Opening of the main park facilities on February 25th, and the dog park scheduled to open on April 4th.

Kiwanis Park is now receiving donations for Phase 2 and construction begins in 2021, depending on fundraising efforts. Phase 2 includes an event gazebo, additional parking, a secondary bathroom to support the dog park, and landscaping.

Opportunities for Giving

$121,000 is still needed to complete Phase 2 of Kiwanis Park. Your donations will help make it possible.
