The Phase 1 Streetscape Project in Chimney Rock includes a new Riverwalk Plaza on Main Street between the Gem Mine and Bubba O'Leary's General Store. This 3,000 square foot plaza provides a new public gathering and seating area, improved access to the Riverwalk along the Broad River, street trees, lighting, and on-street parallel parking.

Project Status

The Riverwalk Plaza has become one of Chimney Rock Village’s greatest assets. It provides a unique viewing area for the Broad River and a convenient access to the Riverwalk Trail. Phase 1 of the Streetscape project is now complete and preliminary work has begun on Phase 2.

Opportunities for Giving

To complete the entire Chimney Rock Village streetscape plan multiple phases of development will be required. Donations of all sizes are welcome and will help support the funding of elements such as trees, benches, and lighting. The Village is now working to raise money for the engineering and construction of Phase 2 of this project.

Major Funding to Date

  • Chimney Rock Village: $250,000
  • Rutherford County TDA: $150,000
  • Appalachian Regional Commission: $20,000
